Information For Parents
_All of the 'blue' uniform is supplied free of charge from RAF supplies. Items of uniform which cadets need to purchase at private expense are: Shoes, Boots, Tights -15 denier barely black (girls) and plain black socks (boys). All camouflage uniform must also be purchased privately and must be Combat Soldier 95 (CS95) pattern. Occasionally we have second hand items of this uniform available for loan. The squadron also has its own T-Shirt for wear on sports events and other representational activities. This is provided free of charge.
_Shoes
These must be the RAF style Direct Mould Sole (DMS) shoes or at least a plain pair of lace up shoes for both male and female cadets. (NB the female and male shoes are different styles).
Boots
These should be Lightweight assault boots or DMS Combat high leg boots. However, you may wear boots of equivalent styling of brand names such as Magnum and Thinsulate. Please note your boots must be black all over and have no fancy patterns, shinny buckles and catches, and MUST fit above the ankles. If you are not sure, please ask for advice before you buy!
Combat Soldier 95 (CS95) 'Combats'
This uniform comprises of a Shirt and Trousers as a minimum. A jacket may be bought if desired.
These items may either be new or Grade 1 (second hand usable).
There are various camouflage styles available, but cadets and British military personnel must wear Combat Soldier 95 pattern.
Other Items
Cadet may purchase at own expense certain other items of uniform – this includes the new style stable belt.
Miscellaneous items such as camo cream and trouser ties can be bought from the sqn (subject to availability).
Females will need to buy their own tights – 15 Denier ‘Barely Black’.
