What's in it for me?

_Cadets will start to learn from a very interesting and detailed syllabus. Most of the subjects are aviation based and build in detail and complexity through the classification levels. At various stages through the training, cadets become eligible to receive a BTEC in Aviation Studies. The value of which increases as the individual progresses through the syllabus. It is therefore possible to obtain a Diploma in Aviation Studies upon reaching a Master Cadet classification. This is equivalent to 4 GCSEs.

What do I learn?

_When you first join you will be known as a 'Junior Cadet'.
Once you have completed your initial training, you will be enrolled  and become a full member of the Squadron. You will then become a Second Class cadet.

Initial Training includes: The Air Training Corps, Basic Drill, Uniform issue, Dress Regulations and upkeep tips

Beyond that you will learn a whole range of fascinating subjects including the following:
Principles of Flight, Map Reading, Expedition Training, Radio Communications, Propulsive Systems and Engines, Air Navigation, Aircraft Electrical Systems.

How old must I be?

_You must be 13 - 17 years old to join.  Membership will cease on your 18th birthday. Under exceptional circumstances with certain prerequisites, membership may be extended to your 20th birthday._

What now?

_1. Pop in and see us any Monday & Thursday evening and look around to find out more.
2. If you decide you want to join, we have induction dates (usually the beginning of each month) where you will get measured for your uniform and be able to start your training straight away with other new recruits.
3. After about a month you should be ready to be enrolled and become a full member!

We look forward to seeing you!

What does it cost?

_A monthly subscription of £7.00.
All your 'blue' uniform is provided to you on free loan. (You will need to buy shoes and boots and the camouflage uniform)... We do occasionally have second hand items for sale at a reasonable price.
